An alleged drunk driver was taken off the roads and arrested last night before he could harm anyone, thanks to the Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch.

At about 11 PM last night, LCSW received a phone call about a suspicious vehicle on Appalo Road, to which several members responded.

Upon arrival, the members noticed the vehicle was stuck in the snow, and also determined the driver appeared intoxicated, a coordinator tells TLS.

“LCSW dispatchers immediately got in contact with Lakewood and Howell Police to ensure the safety of other residents and drivers in the vicinity,” says a coordinator.

Moments later, the driver managed to get his vehicle out of the snow and continue into Howell. He was apprehended before he could get too far, and was taken into custody for DWI, the coordinators say.
