At the Night Out Against Crime yesterday evening, the Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch rolled out a new patrol vehicle. The vehicle, an SUV, was sponsored by the Honda Universe dealership.

Flanked by the Mayor, Committeeman Miller, Attorney Larry Loigman and Captain Tommy Langenberger, the Honda Universe donors took part in the celebration by participating in a ribbon cutting for the new vehicle.

“The corporate sponsorship of this vehicle, which compliments the air of professionalism and respect the LCSW has come to be known for, has already assisted the LCSW in spotting and maintaining surveillance of numerous individuals endangering the public. This safe distance surveillance has led to the arrest and processing of these individuals who were up to no good. In addition to being on the roads however, LCSW has kept it’s sights on more often overlooked areas of concern as well.”

Since its inception several years ago, the volunteer organization – which serves as the eyes and ears to the Police Department, has assisted authorities with dozens of arrests – some of which were high profile.
