Established less than a decade ago, its roots stem from a group of concerned individuals who united with one mission, and that was to keep the town of Lakewood, their home, safe. This volunteer organization of men and woman has worked in unwavering fashion since inception with the Lakewood Police Department and other local authorities and organizations to ensure the safety of the town’s residents. Their teamwork with local law enforcement, a 24- hour hotline, marked patrols, media outlets for important protective messages and events promoting safekeeping measures for the public are just a few of LCSW’s efforts that have guaranteed a greater breadth of resources, resulting in a stronger Lakewood, both in security with which residents live as well as in spirit of how they feel.

This organization is a necessary component to the township’s future and I am sincerely thankful for your dedication and sacrifices.

Chief Robert Lawson, Lakewood Police Department

LCSW is a tremendous resource for Lakewood Township and partner with the Lakewood Police Department. Their nightly patrols in various developments are a force multiplier for the police department and we have made many arrests as a result of information that they have passed on to us. When we had serial burglars plaguing our town, LCSW was instrumental in helping us solve several cases by reporting suspicious activity which ultimately led to the arrest, prosecution and the conviction of the suspects. I commend all the members of LCSW for their selfless volunteerism and efforts in making Lakewood a safer community in which to live.

Lawson said that the increased visibility and Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch, a group of citizens who ride in cars looking for suspicious activity, have lead to more arrests.

Just a note of thanks to the wonderful organization, LCSW.  Last Friday night (August 29th) our smoke alarm started beeping. We called the fire department who told us our smoke alarm was defective, but due to liability reasons they couldn't deactivate it for us. As it's an extremely loud alarm that keeps going off, we couldn't leave it in. An LCSW member soon came on our block to do a safety check. We flagged him downand he graciously came inside and took off the smoke alarm, and even offered to come check again in an hour to make sure everything was okay.

I'm sorry I didn't catch his name, but please thank the man who was patrolling Treeside Lane on Friday night in an LCSW minivan. He really saved our night and our entire Shabbos since my kids were petrified to even step into the house until it was disconnected.

Know that you are doing a very important job here in Lakewood, and you should know that you are truly appreciated!!! May G-d protect you all and help you continue to help all those in need!

In appreciation to Phil and Ray.  They were amazing when they took my son to the hospital on Shavout.

Dear LCSW Representatives,

We were "treated" to a real-life demonstration of your professional and quick response, which only lasted a few minutes. It was comforting that we had somewhere to turn. Please accept this small donation as an expression of our gratitude.

A special thank you to the first responder who showed up in literally a minute and dealt so calmly and efficiently!

Dear Chevrei LCSW,

I am writing to thank you for acting so quickly tonight (Tuesday, 29th of July) when I had not arrived home. You should be ___ to contantly help Yiden - only for good reasons!
